Greetings.  In this blog, I intend to cover a number of issues related to EMS and emergency medicine, and particularly the interaction between the two.  My EMS experience has primarily been in situations which had a major gap between providers and medical command; I intend to eliminate or reduce that gap.  I also want to make EMS-related research more quickly accessible to the EMS reader; often, the summaries in the major publications (JEMS and Emergency Medical Services) are limited in number and come out months after the original studies.

Don’t be surprised to see more than a few bits of humor, too.  Medicine seems to have a certain inherent level of humor–but then, you need that to break up the stress.
