Flaunting it?
1 April 2008Considering that applicants to medical schools outnumber positions available by more than 2 to 1 (42,315 to 17,759 last year, if you really wanted to know), there shouldn’t be any medical schools out there that are hurting for students. This is why it was so strange to see a TV ad for LECOM, the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
I never applied to LECOM, and rarely talked much about it to the two people I had met who went there, so I know very little about the school. However, I know if I were a graduate, I’d be calling up my alumni association, asking what could possibly be going so wrong that a medical school needed to advertise anything….
