This week in God

5 September 2008

Doctors (and, by extension, medical students) are frequently a very scientific lot, particularly when dealing with patients.  It’s difficult for most of us to bring religion into practice, unless it’s something we were specifically taught (and if I have one more class about Jehovah’s Witnesses and blood transfusions, I think I’m going to puke).

So how is it, then, that a patient today picked the least religious person in the room–and quite possibly the least religious medical student on duty–to lead him and his mother in prayer?  Still beats me, but I did it anyway.
