Some warnings shouldn’t be necessary
21 March 2009This was in large print on the back of the instruction manual included with Personal Floatation Devices issued by a certain county a couple years back:
Do Not Attach PFDs To Boat!Each PFD has straps, hooks, buckles, or other means for securing the device in place on the wearer. Some PFDs also incorporate decorative D-rings or tabs. Such items are not to be used to attach the device to the boat. Attaching the device to the boat will not permit it to perform as intended.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Make something idiot proof, and I’ll find ya a better idiot!
I prefer to use the term “idiot-resistant” in honor of that very fact.
