From the “overdoing it can’t hurt” department
24 April 2009If someone doesn’t notice the lights of an emergency vehicle (which admittedly may not always be on), or the vehicle itself, I’m not entirely certain that adding a stop sign to said vehicle is going to help. I suppose there’s no harm in adding one, though, and Toledo Fire Department has gone ahead and done so. I confess that I get a chuckle out of it.

Of course, if they really wanted to be visible, we should talk about the wisdom of painting a vehicle medium-dark red instead of white or lime-yellow, but I don’t think anyone will ever be able to convince many FDs to depart from that tradition.
