This isn’t really related to EMS per se, but it’s pretty cool nevertheless:  the first contact lens with a built-in LED.  It doesn’t sound like much until you realize that with enough miniaturization of the parts, you could build a contact lens with, say, 1024×768 LEDs, which (for those of you playing the home game) is VGA resolution.  Imagine having your very own heads-up display, much like the “augmented reality” that is currently being done with cell phone cameras.  (And speaking of cell phone cameras, an added bonus:  a cell phone attachment that helps diagnose malaria.)
